There are many ways to help
Whether with money, with time, or with an old pair of glasses from a drawer — every form of support arrives. Four ways are open to you:
- Donate money — once or regularly, for our projects in Uganda.
- Sponsor a child — and let an orphan go to school.
- Volunteer — in Germany or on the ground in Uganda.
- Become a member or partner — and carry the work with us for the long term.
Why every euro arrives
Our donations go 100 % into the projects. That is not a slogan but arithmetic: travel, food and accommodation are paid by our helpers themselves. Nobody in the association receives a salary. There is no paid apparatus your donation would have to pass through first.
As a recognised non-profit association we of course issue donation receipts.
Donations in kind: glasses, clothes, shoes
Eyesight weakens with age in Uganda as it does here. But on an income of around one euro a day, glasses are a luxury, and the nearest optician can be 100 kilometres away. In children, undetected vision problems almost inevitably lead to failure at school.
Become a glasses sponsor: 50 euros covers the postage of a five-kilo parcel to Uganda — enough for around 150 people to receive glasses, and a piece of their quality of life back.
