What drives us

For many years Apwoyo e. V. has been working with conviction and personal commitment for people in Uganda who live under difficult conditions.
What began as an initiative born of compassion and responsibility has grown into lasting support that works directly on the ground — without detours, without bureaucracy, but with genuine human contact.
Our projects focus on education, health and self-sufficiency. It is not only about helping in the short term, but above all about creating long-term prospects.
We work closely with local partners and communities: we listen, we understand what is needed, and we develop solutions together that really hold.
For us, help means more than support. It means trust, respect and the chance of a self-determined life.
An overview of our work
Education, health, water and self-sufficiency — these are the four areas we work in across Uganda. Some projects have run for years, others answer an immediate need. What they share is that they are built with the people on the ground, not over their heads.
Since 2015 more than 70 projects have taken shape this way, across a dozen communities.
