Project description
Dear friends and supporters,
for many children in Uganda, going to school costs money. Besides school fees, a uniform is often required as well. Many families cannot afford these costs.
Apwoyo e. V. therefore supports sponsored children with new school uniforms, shoes and supplies. The uniforms are commissioned from a tailoring workshop in Uganda and made locally.
As each school has its own uniform, the cut, type and quantity needed must be established precisely beforehand.
Project status
In 2024, 54 new school uniforms were distributed to orphans. For 2025, the distribution of 70 new uniforms to sponsored children is documented.
The pictures show the work on site: fabrics, sewing, personal care and measuring for new school uniforms.
Project background
A school uniform is more than clothing. It lets children take part in school life, strengthens their sense of belonging and relieves families who often cannot afford the expense.
Implementation
The school uniforms are made locally in Uganda. This combines direct help for the children with local employment.
Before production, we check which uniforms are needed, since requirements differ from school to school.
Get involved & support
With your support, more children can be equipped with school uniforms, shoes and supplies.
Every contribution makes school easier for a child and brings new hope.
Acknowledgements
We thank all the supporters who help sponsored children in Uganda go to school better equipped.
