Distributing aid parcels
20 September 2023
Dear friends and helpers,
today the clothes we sent four weeks ago were distributed at the children’s ward of Lwala Hospital. Once again there were many happy children’s faces. A big thank you to all the helpers, sponsors and members who make this project possible in the first place.
Project status
We collect clothing, shoes and relief goods in Germany, sort them and send them to Uganda in parcels. Distribution takes place on site — at the children’s ward of Lwala Hospital, to orphans and to families in the villages.
What has come together over the past years:
- 2017 — 300 pairs of new shoes and clothing in Lwala
- 2022 — 200 pairs of shoes and as-new clothing, distributed in every village
- 2023 — another 200 pairs of shoes and clothing
- 2024 — 300 pairs of shoes and clothing, plus communion dresses for orphans in Katulikire
- 2025 — 200 pairs of shoes and clothing
Project background
A pair of sturdy shoes sounds like little. In practice it decides whether a child can make the journey to school, and whether it is protected from sand fleas that live in the ground and cause painful inflammations of the feet.
Shipping is the most expensive part of this project — the donated goods themselves cost us nothing. Anyone wishing to help therefore helps us most by contributing to the shipping costs.
